About HeyStax
Welcome, I am Curtis
I have perfected a clean, durable, sturdy and safe bunny feeder that will last you a lifetime. My hay feeders will give bunny parents comfort knowing their bunny has a constant hay source that is clean and sanitary. You will spend less time cleaning your HeyStax hay feeder and around it, which will give you more time to play with your bunnies. Each feeder is handmade and safe with your bunnies in mind. I am proud to share my story, help provide some education on bunnies and share with you my experiences of why I started building HeyStax hay feeders.

Our Story
My wife and I became first-time bunny parents and had no idea what we were in for. We added Peanut to our family in 2015 and then said Beanie to our family one year later. The joy bunnies bring, you would do just about anything for them. Besides the research on owning a bunny, finding the right hay feeder was the most difficult part. My wife and I did the DIY, which ended with a big scare. My wife came home and found Beanie’s head stuck in the DIY feeder, but we had no idea how long he had been stuck. We had another scare! We purchased a feeder with wood dowels that held the hay; as they chewed on the wood, it created a point on the wood that could pierce their head or neck.
We’ve purchased multiple feeders online, DIY feeders, plastic feeders, metal feeders, and wood feeders, as they were all frustrating due to finding stagnant hay and unsanitary living space. The clean-up was constant, and the list became very tiresome. I then discovered that I was severely allergic to hay, closing off my breathing and breaking out, so my wife stepped up to do all the feeding and cleaning for our bunnies. One day, my wife went down and was bedridden for about two months because of back surgery. I masked my face, took my allergy pill, and bucked up to care for our bunnies. While cleaning the bunny’s bedroom, I noticed I could make this easier.
Education
Hay is the main ingredient of a bunny’s diet. A bunny’s diet should consist of 80-90% clean hay. A bunny’s digestive system is constantly moving requiring access to an unlimited source of hay. A bunny’s teeth continually grow and the hay helps file their teeth down to prevent overgrown teeth. Getting the right feeder will help keep your bun bun busy as they burrow through the hay finding the pieces they want and creating a nice hay pad in their potty box for their comfort. I encourage taking some time out to do more research, as what is listed above is only a small portion of what a bunny owner should know about caring for their bunny. Getting a HayStax feeder will help. Being a bunny owner myself, I have experienced difficult, messy, unsafe and unsanitary feeders. HeyStax feeders are built with your bunny’s health and happiness in mind.
