Why a HeyStax Feeder?
HeyStax feeders hold over a leaf of hay in each section. You can go days without filling up your hay, depending on how many bunnies you feed. HeyStax feeders are tall and not free-standing for a reason. The feeder is tall and slender to eliminate dead hay space, so you don’t have to keep moving the hay to the feeding holes. The feeding holes are placed at a low profile, toward the bottom of the feeder, to help circulate the hay as the bunny burrows, minimizing hay build up. The potty box is placed under the feeding holes and extends over the sides of the feeder to minimize hay falling outside of the potty box. You won’t find extended wood side boards or a platform that your potty box sits on with a HeyStax feeder.
In my experience, my bunnies burrowed the hay outside of the feeder and the hay would build up on the wood sides and platform. My bunnies would then urinate on the hay, which would seep into the wood. My bunnies then chewed on the urinated wood leaving it unsanitary and hard to clean. A HeyStax feeder prevents this from happening.
HeyStax feeders give you the option to hang your feeder to a wall using the french cleat system or to a secure gate/fence making your feeder sturdy. No need to lift the feeder to dump it, as when the bunny burrows, the hay is circulated. I’ve never seen stagnant hay in one of my HeyStax feeders. If you want to give your feeder a good cleaning, it’s an easy and quick process to take out all of the leftover hay in the feeder and vacuum the inside and bottom. HeyStax feeders are always bunny safe, as they are quality built and no glue or harmful wood fillers are ever used in their construction.
